Auxiliary Senior Officer Course (ASOC)

The Auxiliary Senior Officer Course (ASOC) (AUX-07) is a 20-month blended course with a  five-day resident component normally held at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. designed to provide effective and efficient training to support the transition to and execution of the position of District Commodore (DCO) and Assistant National Commodore (ANACO). 

ASOC is conducted over a 20-month period: (1) Pre-classroom activities online utilizing the MOODLE classroom from, (2) One-week resident classroom session normally at the USCG Leadership Development Center (LDC) at the Coast Guard Academy (CGA) in New London, CT, and (3) Post-classroom online activities utilizing the MOODLE classroom.

Four workshops are held at two NTRAIN and two NACON national meetings, funded by the CGAux Association. The workshops while not part of the ASOC C-School curriculum cover topics that expand on and support the ASOC curriculum.

Students must be current District Chief of Staff or National Director and meet the requirements of those offices as required by the Auxiliary Manual, COMDTINST M16790.1G (series). This course is not available to all members.
